I'm Scott, a 16 year old, and the owner/operator of my little website and ameatur photo company, Thousand Words Photography. I'm ameatur at this thing called Photography but i've loved it for a long time. Back sometime around 1998 I was introduced to photography with my first camera, a well used Canon A1. My uncle gave this to me as it was his retired camera and he bought a new A1 to shoot weddings with. Since then i've probally gone through 300 rolls of film, probally less than half developed but I enjoyed the aspect of walking around thinking of things to shoot using as least as possible. Then for christmas close to 2004 I recieved my first digital camera. A 1.3 megapixel Samsung digimax 101. WOW! 1.3 megapixels, Now my phone has that many. But I shot 6 thousand shots with that camera and probally 3 thousand AA batteries. And in June of 2007 a great day happened, I bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ8K. Mega OIS,48X overall zoom and that camera goes with me everywhere. The camera reads somewhere around 22 thousand pictures and is still counting. I currently do freelance work for our paper, the Lee County Observer, and other photography for personal interest. I'm not a professional by no means but I love what I do, its a great hobby to get into and if your someone whos good at it, you can make money on the side like my uncle who does weddings for side money. Again, I'm not a pro at photography or journalism so please look past my small gramatical errors and view my photos as if the captions werent there.
I'm currently enrolled as a Junior in High School and from here I still plan to carry on photography throughout my life. After graduating highschool I plan to join the Navy. From there I plan to join the NROTC program where the Navy will pay for college. [website here for NROTC: NROTC ] Then when I graduate I become an officer. I'm still undecided on a major in college. I'd like to major in History because I love it alot, but that would put me at being a nobody in the Navy, then after the Navy probally teaching somewhere or working in a government office. I really like the idea of being a historian or archeologist but there again, its a nobody job. As outgoing as I am,being a nobody in a nobody job dosent fit me, but I could live with it. The only other officer carrers i'd consider would be avation or science which I would be an oceanographer or meteorlogist......[to be continuted]
